Hey Girlies,
Happy Wednesday! Today I have for you the lovely Catherine, a fabulous guest blogger. Today she's chatting about embracing your natural hair. Over to you...
For a long time I struggled with managing my natural hair; I would always just straighten the living hell out of it and leave it at that. I never bothered to try and work with it. While heat styling is great for achieving that perfect finish for a hairstyle, excessively straightening my hair every day was visibly damaging it so learning to embrace my natural hair and work with it rather than trying to fight against it has helped improve its condition and saved me time for my everyday hair styles. If you are finding yourself in a similar situation don't ever rule out being able to manage your natural hair, it is easier than you think!
The first step to embracing your natural hair is recognizing what hair type you have. I have very fine, curly hair it is also quite short and takes its sweet time growing! Once you know what hair type you have you can use this to help you select the products and tools which will give your hair that little extra something that nature missed, in my case thickness and volume. A mistake I made a long time ago was using a thickening cream that I didn't like and then ruling out all thickening creams. Shop around! There are a huge selection of products tailored for specific hair types, you might not find works best for you straight away but it's out there, I promise.
Lots of love,
